COVID 19 Programme Update

Hi everyone,

We hope you’re all keeping well in these difficult times.

Before the outbreak of COVID 19 and the pandemic that has ensued, we were still lucky enough to have started the process for what would have been our second year running the ambassador programme in London.

We had begun fundraising and had expanded the programme from the previous year, including a new city and two new schools. This meant that our 2020 programme enabled us to invite four selected students to the UK for a month of language learning and cultural activities.

We selected our four ambassadors; Esteban, Tomás, María José and Luis Angel and started to make preparations for their arrival. Sadly, because of the global pandemic and the lockdown’s in both our countries we had to make the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the 2020 programme.

However, the good news is that we plan to run this year’s programme in 2021 with the same four students. We believe that they will be able to get just as much from the programme next year and they deserve their places.

We cannot make concrete decisions right now, but we will do everything we can to ensure the programme continues providing it is safe to do and in line with governmental regulations in both the UK and Colombia.

Well done again to all four students and everyone please follow our social media for any updates on the 2021 programme, as well as for details about when our fundraising events will resume.

Un gran abrazo,

The Bright Kites Team
